The Shackton Set includes the digital STL files for three highly detailed and modular buildings: House 1, House 2, and the Boarding House. Each model is a testament to improvised architecture, featuring a labyrinth of precarious balconies, rickety stairs, and crudely patched walls. The textures are deeply rendered, showcasing individual wood planks, worn shingles, and sturdy support beams that bring a tangible sense of realism to your 3D print.
Designed for the popular 28mm/32mm scale, these buildings are perfect for a vast array of fantasy wargames and role-playing games. The fully modular design, with removable floors and roofs, allows for dynamic interior gameplay. Your miniatures can fight their way through cramped rooms, ambush foes from windows, or engage in rooftop chases. The verticality of these models provides excellent cover and strategic vantage points, transforming a flat battlefield into a multi-dimensional urban environment.
Optimized for FDM printing, the entire set is designed to print completely support-free, ensuring a smooth and efficient printing process. They are also fully compatible with Resin printers for those seeking the highest level of detail.
The architecture of the Shackton Set is heavily inspired by the organic, often chaotic growth of historical slums and shanty towns. In many medieval and early modern cities, as populations boomed, space within the defensive walls became a premium. The poor were often relegated to crowded districts where housing was built rapidly and with whatever materials could be scavenged. This led to the creation of ‘rookeries’ or tenements, structures built upwards, leaning against one another, with new floors and rooms added haphazardly as families grew. Much like the buildings in this set, these historical dwellings often featured narrow alleyways, overhanging upper floors that blocked out the sun, and a maze-like quality that made them difficult for outsiders to navigate. This environment, born of necessity, became a character in itself—a haven for the disenfranchised, a den for criminals, and a bustling hub of life, trade, and intrigue. The Shackton Set captures this spirit, providing a believable and compelling setting for stories of desperation, rebellion, and adventure in your fantasy world.
